A big old envelope came in with the mail tonight. Addressed to me, from The Sun Magazine. Inside: a check, four copies of the March issue, and a nice note from the editor, Sy Safransky. My essay, “You Always Call on a Sunday,” is in it. Of course, I’m happy.
It isn’t out in stores yet, but it will be soon. I’ll be letting you know!
Hey, I read that essay. It was riveting. A terrific read. Congrats on finding such a good home for it! I love The Sun.
Thank you Steve, The Sun is a wonderful publication and I’m really pleased to be in it. You’ll find the publication has a nice range. They dedicate part of each issue to Readers Write, where you’ll see alot of wonderful small pieces from readers on whatever the theme is for that month. Thanks for visiting my blog too!
Congratulations. That’s exciting news! I don’t subscribe to many Literary Journals but I got an invitation to consider the Sun Magazine just last week. I was very impressed with the quality of the submissions within those pages. So subscribing is now on my long list of “to do’s.” Maybe I’ll get it in time to read your essay. 🙂
