She I Dare Not Name: A Spinster's Meditations on Life

In her memoir in essays, Australian author Donna Ward writes boldly and tenderly about being alone in a world where the expectation is that we couple and have children, that we become part of a family. Donna wanted this too, but life took her on another path. SHE I DARE NOT NAME, zooms in as Donna’s explores her personal experience and zooms out and explores the larger cultural context of “spinster".”

I found Donna’s memoir moving and thought provoking. So I was delighted that the fabulous Annie Bloom’s Books hosted us for this virtual conversation (video below) in celebration of the USA release of her book. If you are in the USA support a local bookstore and buy the book here!
